Set up your first Morning Row

A live Morning Row showing your top 5–8 residents for today's huddle, with cited sources.

Before you start

  • Admin role on the AcuityRow organization
  • One facility's resident roster (CSV or PDF export from your EHR)
  • A recent shift schedule for that facility

Steps

  1. 1

Create the facility and choose a care setting

From onboarding, add the facility name, address, and care setting (assisted living, memory care, skilled, or independent). The setting changes which signals AcuityRow weights heaviest.

  2. 2

    Import residents

Upload your roster. Map columns to AcuityRow fields (name, unit, room, primary diagnosis, mobility level, family contact). If a column is messy, save the mapping as a draft and continue.

Tip · PDF rosters work — text-extractable only. Scanned images need a CSV.

  3. 3

    Import a starter shift file

Upload the current week's schedule. Map staff name, role, shift start/end, and assigned neighborhood. Staff Fit needs this to flag coverage gaps.

  4. 4

    Set your family update policy

Decide which categories AcuityRow may draft and which require a phone call first (falls, hospitalizations, behavior). This boundary stays in force for every future update.

  5. 5

    Open Morning Row

The first row uses imported residents, recent signals, and current coverage. Each card cites its sources. Accept, dismiss, or escalate — every action writes to the audit trail.

Common pitfalls

  • Skipping the care setting causes generic prioritization — set it before importing.
  • Importing residents without a shift file works, but Staff Fit will be empty until shifts land.
